Burnie started life in a puppy farm in Ireland and also experienced an unpleasant time in a pet shop in South London. Throughout his fourteen years he suffered from a debilitating colitis, but he never let that hold him back. A regular presence in the pubs of Clerkenwell and Henley in his younger days, he retired to North Wales where he enjoyed drives over the Orme and walks along the beach. He had a huge personality and a great sense of humour. His inspiration has already given many animals better lives.
